If you are struggling with Bible study, then the book of Psalms is a great place to start. Actually it's a perfect book for beginners and mature students alike! I have read the Psalms many times, but this is the second time that I have slowed down and went verse by verse, and I can testify that this word is restorative!
Five years ago I bought a notebook and opened up the Psalms with the intention of writing everything I learned about the character of the God I serve. I did not expect to feel like God had washed me clean with His word, but that is exactly what happened. I'll never forget the day I finished the last chapter of Psalms. My heart sunk, not because I was disappointed in my study, NOT AT ALL. But I simply did not want to end my journey through this powerful book of songs. So here I am again, making my way through the Psalms and LOVING every minute of it.
Psalms 19 has grabbed my attention, and today I want to share with you verses 7-11 as a song, meant to be sung by the servants of the Lord.
The Law of the Lord is perfect
Restoring the heart and soul
The word of the Lord is faithful
Instructing the foolish of heart
The precepts of the Lord are righteous
Bringing joy to every heart
The commands of the Lord are pure
Illuminating every eye
The fear of the Lord is pure
Enduring forever all time
The judgments of the Lord are firm
Joined in righteousness
The word of the Lord is priceless
More valued than silver or gold
The word of the Lord is a warning
Keeping it brings great reward
There is a reward for heeding the law of God! Do not neglect His living word. For in God's word, you will be restored!
